Steve Gilbert has been teaching guitar to students in the metropolitan Detroit for over twenty years.  Subsequent to receiving formal instruction at Fava Music Studio in Southfield, he continued to take lessons and attend workshops to increase his musical knowledge.  Steve has performed at Arts, Beats, and Eats in Pontiac, and has been a vocalist/guitar player in Side Pocket.  He also has performed as part of acoustic duos and in a solo capacity throughout the area.  During his travels, Steve has played with local musicians in Phoenix, Kansas City, Houston and Las Vegas.
 
Steve specializes in teaching guitar fundamentals to students of all ages.  He is proficient in the folk, rock and blues genres and emphasizes an approach that focuses on the individual student's immediate and long term musical objectives.
