Danielle is a 2010 graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Philosophy. At U of M, she was involved with the America Reads tutoring corps, working in underpriviledged elementary schools. She also spent considerable time leading teenagers in volunteer work with the Plymouth YMCA's Youth Volunteer Corps.
Danielle began learning music dedicatedly with the clarinet in 1998; she took private lessons and participated in school bands until she graduated from Livonia Ladywood High School in 2006. As a junior in high school, she began studying jazz improvisation and classical piano, which has now become her preferred channel of musical expression. In 2006, she was a member of the DSO's Youth Jazz Ensembles. Danielle has continued studying the piano and wants nothing more than to awaken a passion for music and general harmony in her students. In teaching, she stresses the importance of reading music and developing their ear. You will learn to play a variety of ways, learn to read music, listen and perhaps compose some simple pieces of your own! |
